A legacy gift, also known as an estate gift or a planned gift, is much more than a financial decision. It’s a personal statement about who you are, what you care about, and the mark that you want to make on the world. Your gift will help IDF advance its mission of improving the diagnosis, treatment and quality of life of persons with primary immunodeficiency (PI) while, at the same time, establishing your own legacy.
Types of Legacy Gifts
Legacy gifts can take many forms and may provide immediate income tax savings and/or estate tax savings at your death. Some examples are:
Including IDF in Your Will or Revocable Trust
Legal Name: Immune Deficiency Foundation, a Delaware corporation
Address: 110 West Road, Suite 300, Towson, MD 21204
Tax ID Number: 52-1214782
If you wish to include IDF in your will or revocable trust, please do so in consultation with your estate planning lawyer. Once the gift has been included in your document, let us know so we can thank you and recognize you as part of the IDF Legacy Society. Such a gift can be made in several ways:
To Restrict Your Gift
Although unrestricted funds are the most beneficial, if you wish to support a specific program, your will or trust should clearly state the intended purpose so that the restriction is not so limited as to prevent IDF from applying the money in the most efficient way. We also ask that your document allow the restricted gift to be used for a related purpose in the event that the intended program is no longer appropriate.
The IDF Legacy Society
The IDF Legacy Society recognizes the very special people who have included IDF in their wills, or who have created other types of planned/legacy gifts in support of IDF. Through their foresight and philanthropy, these individuals create a future for IDF programs. We invite you to join the IDF Legacy Society by including the Immune Deficiency Foundation in your financial or estate plan through a planned legacy gift such as those mentioned above.
Once you have completed your estate plans, please let us know. It would be helpful if you would share the excerpt that designates IDF so that we have a record of your intentions. We would like to thank you for your generosity by including you in the IDF Legacy Society.
Your membership in the IDF Legacy Society involves no dues, obligations or solicitations, but it does allow us to thank and recognize you for the plans you have made and it may inspire generosity in others.
Each Legacy Society member enjoys the following benefits:
However, the most important benefit you will receive from joining the Legacy Society is the sense of fulfillment knowing that your special gift will allow IDF to grow its impact by leaps and bounds.
Thank you for considering a legacy gift that will provide support for future generations of patients with PI.
