We are thrilled to be hosting the 2023 IDF Advocacy Day in person on Capitol Hill on April 27. Because space is limited, IDF will employ a highly selective process to choose participants based on the information provided in the application fields below. The deadline to apply is March 3, 2023.

Completion of this application does not guarantee selection to participate in Advocacy Day.  

Participant Requirements 

If selected to participate in Advocacy Day, applicants must:

  • Travel to Washington, D.C., on April 26 and 27, 2023. Participation in the Stand Up for PI Program requires travel to Washington, D.C., on April 25, 2023.
  • Attend a virtual training with IDF staff on policy priorities and effective advocacy.
  • Prepare an “elevator speech” advocating in support of IDF policy priorities.
  • Represent IDF to members of Congress and their staff by sharing personal experiences.
  • Be available for regular communication with IDF staff before, during, and after Advocacy Day.  

The ideal Advocacy Day attendee is:  

  • Diagnosed with PI or a caregiver, family member, or strong supporter of someone with PI.
  • A strong communicator and listener.
  • Comfortable communicating and interacting with elected officials and/or staff.
  • Experienced in sharing personal stories and experiences about their journey with PI. 

Stand Up for PI Eligibility 

  • Must be age 15- 25.
  • Must participate in Advocacy Day.
  • Participants under age 18 must have an accompanying parent/guardian.
  • Adults who accompany teens must participate in Advocacy Day.
