IDF goes to the Beach!

What better way to spend a day in the summer than coming to sunny Fort Lauderdale with IDF?  IDF’s first ever patient education meeting in Southern Florida brought 75 patients and family members to the Hilton Garden Inn on August 20!   The event had such amazing turnout as the participants came to learn more about primary immunodeficiency diseases and meet with others who live with these conditions.  Luckily many IDF volunteers were on hand to help out and be a part of the success.  Special thanks go to Kim Conrad, Kim Culver, Richard and Janet Darby, Jenny Gardner, Sharon Gelfano, and John Guntkowski who generously lent their time to assist with the meeting!

The meeting featured local experts in immunology addressing the treatment and management of primary immunodeficiency diseases with presentations and question and answer periods.  Speakers and topics included:

In addition to the fabulous speakers, the attendees also enjoyed a person to person discussion session for patients and family members only.  This afforded participants with the opportunity to speak one-on-one with others going through similar experiences with PIDD and share support and resources.
