This is an extraordinarily difficult time that has left many of us asking, “What more can I do? How can I help?”
IDF is about to start a COVID-19 & PI survey project that is anticipated to run throughout the pandemic; there is an urgent need to understand the impact on those with PI. The project will aim to collect data each week on various issues affecting the community.
This is our chance, as a community, to do something and do something impactful and important. No one else is currently collecting nationwide COVID-19 data and outcomes on those with PI. If we do not do it and do it now, no one will. We have a tremendous opportunity to make a difference and IDF can’t do this important COVID-19 research without you.
The first step in this project will be a screening and recruitment survey for the main study. This first survey should only take about 5 minutes. It asks some very basic questions about your household members, your views on COVID-19 and gives you the ability to sign up for the larger study.
This initial survey will be your only opportunity to participate in the long-term project. If you do not take this first survey and agree to participate there will be no further opportunity to participate.
We are trying to get this project started as soon as possible. This initial screening survey will only be live for a few days. In order to receive the invitation to participate in this research, we need you to take some specific actions.
- If you already have an IDF account, please make sure your email address is valid and that you have opted in to receive IDF Surveys in the Manage My Subscriptions section.
- If you do not have an IDF account, please create one and opt-in to IDF surveys.
- Be on the lookout for an e-mail with the initial screening survey.
Because we want the largest participant base possible for this survey, we encourage you to share this information with anyone you know who is a member of the PI community as soon as possible. Only those who receive the initial screening questions will be able to participate in the study.
Together, we can do something, we can make a difference. Capturing this information in real-time is the best way to inform researchers, physicians, and the healthcare community about the effects of COVID-19.
Please stay safe. Please stay healthy. Please stay informed.
