Extension of Medicare IVIG Demonstration Update

September 21, 2017

On July 25, 2017, the US House of Representatives passed the Medicare Part B Improvement Act of 2017 by unanimous voice vote. The legislation would extend the life of the Medicare IVIG Demonstration project. The bill is now in the Senate, where it still needs to be submitted for a vote, and passed in order to be signed into law by the President.

HR 3178, introduced by Congressman Kevin Brady (R-TX) and Congressman Richard Neal (D-MA), is a collection of six smaller measures designed to improve Medicare Part B programs. Language from one of these included measures seeks to extend the Medicare IVIG Demonstration Project, which is scheduled to expire on September 30, 2017.

Due to the impending deadline of the demo, IDF has been advocating tirelessly for HR 3178 to be submitted for a vote in the Senate and will be keeping the PI community informed of movement on this vital piece of legislation for the PI community. If you have questions, please contact Ask IDF.
