All month long, the Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) is highlighting the importance of plasma donation and why plasma donors are truly lifesavers to many people living with primary immunodeficiency diseases (PI).
People of all ages diagnosed with PI are grateful for the lifesaving gift that plasma donors make. Many with PI reply on immunoglobulin (Ig) replacement therapy to help protect them from life-threatening infections.
We asked the IDF community on Facebook to thank plasma donors, and we received an outpouring of gratitude.
“Myself and my son getting our infusions. Thank you to all who donate plasma!” – Cherie Martz-Finley
“My husband getting his infusion at home where I do it for him! His advice to younger people with PID... marry a nurse! Thanks to all the donors! We are forever grateful!” – Sarah Freburger
“Averi, after a rough morning of vomiting and a migraine. She pushed through!” – Sophia Ahmed
“Thank you to all plasma donors! You helped save me and my family!” – Ginnie Starling Stokes
