The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF) engages in advocacy issues that impact individuals with compromised immune systems that includes the primary immunodeficiency disease (PI) community. Efforts include educating Congress and other decision makers on the impact that policies related to antibiotic resistance and vaccine use have on the PI community. IDF is able to advocate on issues and share the unique perspective of the PI community regarding these important public health initiatives. IDF has engaged with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to offer expert advice, materials and real world patient stories to educate the agency on how vaccine and antibiotic policy issues impact the PI community.
