Immune Deficiency Foundation welcomes Quest Diagnostics in awareness campaign

Baltimore, MD

The Immune Deficiency Foundation (IDF), the leading national nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the diagnosis, treatment, and quality of life for people with primary immunodeficiencies, today announced that Quest Diagnostics has joined them on a new wellness initiative.

This collaboration comes as part of the Quest Diagnostics Season of Giving Program, reflecting both organizations' commitment to supporting patients and families affected by primary immunodeficiency. Quest Diagnostics brings extensive expertise in diagnostic testing and laboratory services to advance IDF's mission of serving the primary immunodeficiency community.

"We are thrilled to welcome Quest Diagnostics," said Jorey Berry, president and CEO. "Their commitment to diagnostic excellence and patient care aligns perfectly with our mission. We’re grateful for companies who share our dedication to bringing hope to families affected by primary immunodeficiencies and awareness to a rare, chronic, and often misdiagnosed condition."

Through this collaboration, Quest Diagnostics and IDF will work together to:

  • Advance awareness of primary immunodeficiency, by sharing resources and information at select locations.
  • Improve access to critical diagnostic resources.
  • Support educational initiatives and volunteer opportunities for employees.

About Quest Diagnostics

Quest Diagnostics works across the healthcare ecosystem to create a healthier world, one life at a time. We provide diagnostic insights from the results of our laboratory testing to empower people, physicians and organizations to take action to improve health outcomes. Derived from one of the world's largest databases of de-identifiable clinical lab results, Quest's diagnostic insights reveal new avenues to identify and treat disease, inspire healthy behaviors and improve healthcare management. Quest Diagnostics annually serves one in three adult Americans and half the physicians and hospitals in the United States, and our nearly 50,000 employees understand that, in the right hands and with the right context, our diagnostic insights can inspire actions that transform lives and create a healthier world.

About primary immunodeficiency

Primary immunodeficiencies (PIs), also known as inborn errors of immunity (IEI), are a group of more than 550 rare, chronic conditions in which part of the body's immune system is missing or does not function correctly. According to the National Institutes of Health, there are approximately 500,000 individuals in the U.S. with a PI. These conditions are caused by hereditary genetic defects and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or ethnicity. PI can cause infection, malignancy (cancer), allergy, autoimmunity, autoinflammation, or any simultaneous combination of these issues.
